This one is for you Danelle!

It gets quite hot when we walk home from church at 2pm so we decided to take umbrellas today to keep the sun off us on the way home. Bad idea! There was a lot of wind today and Jaxson didn't fare so well with the gigantic golf umbrella. Everyone must have thought it was a parade because lots of people honked, waved and yelled out their car windows to us. Umbrellas do draw a lot of attention when there are five of you all strung out along the sidewalk. But at least no one got hit by a car! So this one is for you Danelle, wish you had been there to see the circus!

Peaches!!

We picked all the peaches from our little tree out back today and had the whole family out back helping scald, peel, slice and bottle the fruit. We got 21 quarts done and on the shelf! Jaxson had to take a break from all the work (he really was a good little helper) to blow dry his wet socks.

The kids wanted to do more peaches, last year we ran out and they do love their peaches with dinner. We did plant another peach tree this year, hope to get some peaches from it next year. The house is sort of a wreck, but at least the sticky peach mess was all outside and we just hosed everything down at the end.

Bear Lake Trip

Decided that we better get to Bear Lake at least once this year. It was a perfect day on Saturday, not too hot and the water was great. The kids loved the shallow water and being able to walk way out away from the shore, but still be able to touch. We tried to cook dinner on the beach, but must have had dud charcoal. Ate sandwiches for the second time that day and then got shakes at LaBeau's before hitting Pickleville Playhouse. Love to hear the kids laugh at the show. They had been looking forward to the adventure for weeks. Now they go around quoting the funny parts and singing snatches of song.

Smith Reunion

Had a blast doing the smear dad with pudding game. Then there was the toss cheetos at your partners head after it is covered in shaving cream game. Whoever got the most cheetos to stick won! It was a messy weekend and I was glad it wasn't at my house. The kids had a blast staying up late with their cousins, forgetting to eat their vegetables and getting super messy and wet.

The Great Outdoors

Took the hike around the lake and watched the firefighting helicopter drop down for buckets of water. Quite impressive! The wildflowers were amazing.

Took a one night camping trip to Tony's Grove Lake on August 13-14. Had a blast with the Wiberg clan - sort of crashed their party. It was so beautiful up there in the cool of the mountains. Started to rain in the middle of the night and realized we had not put the rain cover on. The kids had a blast out in the pasture making forts under trees and chasing each other all over the place. Jaxson sprained an ankle! But it didn't slow him down for long, until he needed to be carried around the house and didn't feel that he could make it to church!

Sophie's Birthday!!!!

Sophie turned 9 on August 8th and had a great time being the star of the show. Her sisters gave her the royal treatment and she loved every minute of the pampering. Olivia informed us that no one else could have their nails done on Sophie's birthday!

Trip to Rexburg

Borrowed the Ripsticks from the cousins and found the skate park in Rexburg. The kids were getting pretty good at it and had to take turns using the Ripstick that still had all the ball bearings. Had a great time helping each other learn.

Jaxson and I picked up donuts on our way home from an early morning trip to the skate park, LaRee had leftover pizza and we called it breakfast. This is what you get when you stay at Grandma's house. Also hit the irrigation canal to cool off after the skate park. Found lots of golf balls as a bonus and got soaking wet and cold.
