We took off right after school on a Friday to hit Sherwood hills and cross-country ski for the afternoon while the snow was beautiful and glorious. We had gone up on Monday when the kids were out of school and had a blast. Sophie wanted to take her friend down the hill where we had so much fun on Monday so off they went and the rest of us went around the trail the other direction. When we finally got back around we found two very sad, red eyed girls sitting in the snow yelling for help.
The snow was quite a bit icier than it had been and Sophie crashed on the first trip down. Her knee got twisted and she had to have her friend get her skies off her feet.
She couldn't walk and so we sent someone for the sled

We had to take a few pictures for the scrapbook and that did not amuse Sophie one bit. We all stayed together and pulled her down the hill on the sled. Had the neighbor carry her the last bit across the parking lot to the truck.
She was one sad and hurting girl. Got ice on it and pain meds, she is doing much better, but when we went out this weekend, she only rode a sled and had a snowball fight. She might be done with skiing for this season.
Oh, poor Sophie! A sad day AND a hurt knee...poopy. I'm glad you took the time to capture it on film, even though it upset her. Please give Sophie a giant hug from me! I love that girl! Looks like a super fun activity, minus the twisted knee.
